Story Time Day and Time

Story time will be on Tuesdays at 10:00 and at 1:15. Preschool aged children will listen to stories and make craft items. Please feel free to bring your preschool aged children. An adult MUST be in attendance at all times.

We have on display a tin collection from Tracie Penland. Thanks for sharing with us Tracie!! If you would like to share your collection(s), please contact Nancy to set up a date to display your collection.

We are still needing recipes for our fundraiser cookbook, please turn your recipes in ASAP so we can have the cookbook ready for Christmas sales.

Summer Reading Program ended on July 29, 2010. We had a total of 1,401 hours read! Kenny Messick was our top reader with 512 hours.

Thanks to all that participated in the program this year, a special thanks to Kim Bethell, Emily Bethell, Trudy Rubick, and Jamie Penland for all their hard work and dedication.

Summer Reading Program

The Summer Reading Program is off and and running. The children are enjoying crafts based on a water theme (mostly water animals) and snacks. Thanks to those that have donated recyclables to help out with the crafts. The last week of the program (July 27/28) we will be having water play outside, so please have the children dress accordingly.

A cook book is our fundraiser project, so we are asking for your recipes!! Please bring them into the library, or e mail them to: stovern@williamsburgcommunitylibrary.org Thanks in advance for your help. I am hoping to have the cook books published and available for Christmas sales. Please have your recipes turned in by September 30, 2010.

The library board will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, April 15th at 7:00 pm. Board meetings are open to the public and your participation is welcome.

Placing a Hold

Just In!

Don’t miss out on the latest and greatest items that are being added to the catalog. These hot items go out fast. But you can make sure you are one of the first to see them by placing a hold.

We are always happy to assist you in placing these holds, but you have the power! Use the “search our catalog” box on the right to search for the item you are wanting. Once you find it, you will be asked for your user name and password. (A librarian can assist you if a new user name and password are needed) After entering your information a screen that holds your name and card number will appear. The item you selected should also be on this screen. Click the place a hold button and you have successfully placed a hold for the item. Please feel free to click on other tabs and see what all you can do in NExpress. Also, if you have a question the library staff is happy to help. Make sure when you are done to log out so that your information doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. Happy browsing!!

Spring Break at the Library

We have a week of activities planned at the Library during Spring Break. Please RSVP in advance so we have enought snacks and craft supplies to go around.

Topsy-Turvy/Upside Down Day - this will be Amelia Bedelia Day – wear your clothes backwards or mismatched. Let your imaginations run wild. For our activity we will be making indivdual pizzas.

Tuesday, March 16, 1:00 pm
Camp Out With a Good Book – Bingo, Scavenger Hunt, and S’mores are part of the list of activities we have planned.

Wednesday, March 17, 1:00 pm
Teddy Bear Picnic – Activities will be outside in a tent. We will go on a bear hunt, make puppets, and decorate cupcakes.

Thursday, March 18, 3:00 pm
Pajama Day – wear your pjs and slippers. We will be serving pancakes and waffles and watch a movie. We will also play pajama bingo.

Craft Supplies Needed

We are accepting donations of craft supplies to be used for the Summer Reading Program and other children’s programs at the Library. If you have items you can donate, please contact Nadine at the Library. We specifically need glass jars and containers with lids. Thank you for your support!
